Questions

Does it cost anything?

No. The beta is free.

Do I need to sign up or give an email?

No. Tap your button and install. That's it.

Do I need a computer or a cable?

No. Everything happens on your phone.

Can I talk to friends on the other kind of phone?

Yes. iPhone and Android users can message and call each other.

Is it private?

Messages are end-to-end encrypted, so only you and the people you talk to can read them. iPhone also uses post-quantum encryption, with Android coming. Messages are deleted from our servers within an hour of delivery.

Will a beta version be less stable?

It might have the odd rough edge. That's the point: you help us find them before everyone else gets the update.

How do I tell you something's wrong?

Report it from inside PIING. Say what phone you have, what you tapped and what happened.

How do I stop testing?

On iPhone, open TestFlight, pick PIING and tap Stop Testing. On Android, open the testing page again and tap Leave the programme. Then install the normal version from your app store.

The button says "Opening very soon". What now?

Testing for that phone isn't open yet. Check back here shortly.
